I would like to dedicate this message to all the veterans who have ever fought for our country in any branch of our military; whether from behind a desk or on the front lines and anywhere in between. There is no way I can ever really say in words just how appreciative I am to you. There have been several of my family members, including extended family in the service. Like most of you who are not personally military, in every generation there have been family members who were willing to serve.
I cringe to think of where we would be as a country if there hadn’t been so many men and women willing to make this sacrifice, as well as their families along with them. The web stie that I found the most “civilian friendly” for me is http://www.military.com/veterans-day. It would do all of us well to look up some history of what our military has been through even if you are well informed. If you are one of those who are well informed, please share with the rest of us.
I appreciate all that our military has ever done. If I see someone in fatigues or uniform, I will go out of my way to thank them; after I get a hold on my emotions. I don’t know about you, but it just grabs my emotions by the throat when I see someone obviously set apart by clothes. I know they are also set apart in their heart of hearts. Whether they are in the military for career choice, to get their college education, because they just wanted to be in the military or other reasons, they are set apart in their hearts just for stepping up.
Thank you again, veterans, on this Veteran’s Day and on all other days. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Be blessed, my friend
