Happy 100th Post!

Let me begin by thanking all of you who have read, “liked,” and followed my blog posts in the time since this trip called “blogging” began for me. I hope that for the most part you are encouraged and you get a laugh or giggle sometimes from the posts on this blog. Lightheartedness is a goal I reach for with the understanding that “life happens” and sometimes what I share may not be so light. I do hope you leave glad you stopped by anyway.

It’s hard to believe that time has passed so quickly! One hundred posts ago I was embarking on a journey with blogging that was brand new to me. I have to say that I am still learning, and it is still fun. There have been obstacles, and there will be more in the future, but it is still worth it.

This blog site came to be so that I could share my faith in day to day life when things are not so easy as well as when things are rosy. I intended to share my life openly including my writing career, which was just beginning at that time. It was a part of my life that I believed I should share as a witness of God’s faithfulness. The book, Morning Glory, is nonfiction about the time in our lives when my husband, son, and I were expecting the first of our daughters to be born. I believed God wanted me to publish my journal, but came to understand He wanted me to use my journal to write a manuscript of that experience and how God helped us through that time of expectancy followed by our baby daughter going home to Heaven before we had the pleasure of raising her. That manuscript is still in the works as God leads.

During my first writers’ conference God helped me understand that I was to write Christian Historical Fiction, also. I learned again not to ever say what I would never do. God just may show me I can do that very thing with Him. That was when I wrote my first rough draft of a fiction novel, The Sailor’s Legacy, complete with God’s love and His legacy for each of us. Now one hundred blog posts later, I am much closer to having the first novel in a trilogy finished and published. What an awesome God he is! I have a more concrete understanding of Philippians 3:14, “I can do all things through God, who strengthens me.” Even with this past year’s serious health issues some of my close family have had as well as myself, and constantly learning to adjust to Mama living in Heaven God has surrounded me with encouraging family and loved ones reminding me that what God called me to, I can surely do with Him.

I will continue do my best to stay close to my beginning purpose while growing in God and always stay in check with Him before venturing out on my own. Life is definitely adventurous at times with Him and I want every bit of life I can have. We have expanded from just a blog to a website including various pages of interest. It is continually changing and evolving to be better and easier to use. I hope you will stay for the ride and enjoy it as much as I do. I am looking forward to the next 100 posts and more.

Have a very blessed and adventurous year!
